About Us
History
Haven Design Studio is the brain-child of Lorye Vandiver, RID and Joanna O’Brian. Their partnership was born when they worked together at a nationally recognized interior design and merchandizing firm. After eight years in the trenches, they were recruited to help launch a new design company that specialized in multi-family design. After four years of working with clients such as Greystar, Trammel Crow Residential, Judwin Properties and The Morgan Group, Lorye and Joanna decided to take the plunge, combining their years of experience and individual talents to establish their own firm.
Our amazing team focuses on commercial, residential and hospitality projects. Together, Lorye and Joanna have completed a wide variety of projects across the nation, including more than 100 multi-family amenity centers, close to 200 model units, more than 70 single family model homes, vacation homes (both domestic and international), and varied other projects, including student housing, coffee shops, country clubs and an emergency clinic.

Lorye Vandiver, RID
With over 20 years of experience, Lorye Brown Vandiver brings technical expertise, a unique viewpoint, and an almost annoying attention to detail to her work. Her wanderlust, love of travel and the excessive use of her iphone camera gives her the ability to incorporate a wide variety of styles to Haven Design Studio’s projects, and the global outlook to make each one diverse and interesting.
An avid reader, intrepid traveler, social media addict, wife and dog-mom to 2 rambunctious rescue Aussies, Lorye’s love of destinations near and far and passion for design are apparent in every aspect of her life.

Joanna O'Brian
Born in England and calling both The Big Easy and Houston home during her formative years, Joanna O’Brian provides her fabulous sense of style and ability to find new and exciting ideas and materials to Haven’s clients. Her design education in the UK has given her a European outlook and eclectic design sensibility. Her 20 years of industry experience has enhanced her ability to develop creative and cohesive spaces
An Instagram-stalker, party-planner wanna-be, lifestyle guru, wife, and mom of 4 (a boy, a girl and 2 Velcro Viszlas), Joanna’s personal style and love for design shines in each project.
